“Al Horford Should Have Won”
The NBA playoffs have been very interesting and very surprising to a lot of people. A lot of people never thought our Atlanta Hawks would make it as far as they have, even with the loss last night in Boston. But a BIG part of their post-season success is Rookie Al Horford. He was beaten out of Rookie of the Year honors by Seattle’s Kevin Durant. Granted, Kevin Durant averaged 20 points a game to Al Horford’s 10. But Al Horford led all rookies in double doubles with 25 and rebounds averaging nearly 10 per game. He has made more of an impact on his team than Kevin Durant did. K.D. got the publicity being the #2 pick behind Greg Oden who missed the season due to injury.
Josh Smith said, “If people think hard, they would put more on the impact a player has on his team and how his team finishes the season.”
Then Marvin Williams summed it up best. “The difference is, you have one team in the playoffs and another team is watching the playoffs…”
Al Horford should have been named Rookie of the Year.
NO HYPE. JUST TRUTH.
